	Do you provide rental items such as linens, silverware, glassware, tables, and chairs? Yes Herbs & Spices will arrange all of your rental needs from the usual party items such as tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware and silverware, to more elaborate items such as fine china, crystal, and specialty linens. We can also arrange for larger items such as canopies, stages and dance floors. We use a few local rental companies with a wide variety of items for you to choose from to enhance your event. Do you provide wine or liquor? Herbs & Spices can provide beer and wine for your event. If you prefer to purchase your own alcohol Herbs and Spices can provide service, which no corkage fee. Do you provide bartenders and servers? Yes, Herbs & Spices is a full service caterer and can provided all your staffing needs. Do you charge extra to cut the wedding cake? We do not charge a cake cutting fee. Herbs & Spices also does not make wedding cakes, but can recommend some fabulous bakers. Do you set up and clean up? We will dress and set the tables, clear the tables, and clean the service/kitchen area, leaving it as we have found it. If you wish us to set up and breakdown the tables and chairs there is an additional fee. How do you charge for labor? We charge for our staff by the hour, based on a five hour minimum per staff person. We do our best to estimate the amount of time that our staff will be needed for your event. However, since many variables exist, the final cost is based on the actual time worked. For large full service events, we require an Event Manager to oversee staff and ensure the coordination of a successful event. What are the Hourly rates for your staff? Event Manager @ $40.00 per hour On-Site Chef @ $35.00 per hour Bartender @ $25.00-30.00 per hour Server @ $25.00 per hour Kitchen Staff @ $25.00 per hour How many staff people will be needed at my event? Staffing needs depend on the size of your event as well as how elaborate and formal it is. Below are general rules 1 server for every 25 people for a buffet dinner 1 server for every 15 people for a simple plated dinner 1 server for every 10 people for an elaborate dinner 1 cook for every 40 people for a buffet dinner 1 cook for every 20 people for a simple plated dinner 1 cook for every 10 people for an elaborate dinner 1 Bartender for ever 100 people beer and wine 1 Bartender for ever 75 people full bar After we learn more about your event and your needs we will recommend the proper number staff to insure your event goes smoothly. Besides the cost for food, what other charges can I expect for a catered event? When you see the proposal all items will be itemized so you can see exactly what the costs are. There are no hidden fees. Herbs & Spices does not include the gratuity. If you feel the staff has earned a gratuity you can include it in the check and we will distribute it to the staff or you can give the staff cash. Industry standards are usually 15% of the food cost, however the staff is appreciative any anything you can afford Do you have children’s prices? Yes. Children of 5 and under are free and Children under 10 years of age will receive a 25% discount, unless we create a special meal for children. What is 'drop off' service? We bring the food to you. All cold or room tempature items will be ready to go on disposable serving trays. Hot items will be on oven proof trays and you will need to heat them up and place them on trays. There are no servers. A delivery & pick-up fee is charged. This option works best for more informal events where the client does not min doing some work on there own during the event. Delivery/pickup charges begin at $15 for Alameda. Other locations will be charged by the distance. You can choose to pick up the food to aviod extra delivery fees. Do you provide paper goods, china, linens, or chaffing dishes for drop offs? We can arrange any items whether they are paper or china for your drop offs at a fee. .
